Count me in! I can certainly add misrepresentation. In 2001 I invited CRA to my home to help me figure out auto entries that were added to my quick books during my several hospital stays for depression. The gentleman retrieved my auto entried for payroll etc, had me sign and said that I could mend the figures later. Not sure no of the ridiculous amount now $20,000 or something like this. I have still not dealt with this.
Should be gone now according to the statute of limitations. But they still have my bank account seized. So I remain dependent on my husband financially.
Any advice?

I just recently found mylesf a Bookkeeper in my own country (Denmark) and you're right. It really took a ton of stress of my shoulders! Now I can focus on doing what I do best and not worry about my business records.

Mine are such a mess at this point with the business that I'll be taikng mine to someone qualified. I've never done this before either, but if there is ONE LESSON I've picked up in the last few years, it's that there is no shame in paying someone to do a job that they do better than you do, where better is defined as literally better, equivalent but faster, or available to do the job when I am not.Sure, I know how to change the oil on my car, the brakes on my car, etc.. I've done it many times. But it takes my mechanic far less time with a hoist and air tools and that's time I could be using for billable work (or frankly, what's left of my personal life).

HiIf you work outside Ontario duinrg 2011, the receipts required would be the same as if you worked in Ontario all receipts for income earned as well as all receipts for your work related expenses such as automobile expenses, materials and supplies bought for the job and any other expenses incurred for the job. If you are paying rent for an apartment outside Ontario, you would not be able to declare the rent for the Ontario Property tax credit, however, if you use a portion of the apartment for your home office, you would be able to include a portion of the rent paid as part of your business expense Hope this helps ..

The collection officer is phoning calling us lyers telling us to give our car back to make payments and its ridiculous theres only 4600 left owing from only 1 year ago. Im at a complete loss of what to do we just dont have the money to pay this right now and are being harassed.

Our letter didn't even look like this and we too didn't get the letter until days after the account was frozen and ALL funds siezed. Then we come to find out 2 weeks later that RBC hasnt even sent the funds to them, CRA 'claims' no record of funds being recieved. I don't trust CRA or RBC as far as nI can throw them, the both lie through thier teeth and are clearly out to ruin the lives of people who have been paying AS PROMISED!! yet they can't even properly add and subtract. We have made over $23,000 in payments in the last 2 years and the balance is going UP.

These crooks need to be exposed and their cheating ways put to an end!

Good article. I came up against my first request and the auditor was nasty and forceful about me supplying the file. I fought back, but I risked looking like I was delaying the audit and not providing the requested materials, which risked my license. Seems like a conflict of interest to me. A request from an auditor can risk me losing my license because I said no. It pits me against my client; a huge conflict of interest. In the end, I was forced to hand over the file.
